I’ve somewhat started my little tour with Ruff Riders in Dallas TX. It went well, considering that these things usually go over like a knitting class for a football team. There is always that one guy who brings, and God bless him, piles of clippings, articles and covers for me to sign. Sometimes it’s a bit awkward signing photos of my cock in front of strangers but I forget that I’m here as Johnny Hazzard, porn star turned media mogul. What I have found though during this short process, is that people, mostly club owners, are expecting me to do the whole “porn star bit” which means go to a club, remove my clothing, dance on some elevated apparatus, best case scenario, and entertain the patrons like some trained circus animal. I cannot fault them for this really because there was a time not too long ago where I would’ve done that. What bothers me though is when they outwardly show no interest or support in my new ventures and refuse to entertain the idea of me coming to the bar, fully clothed, and schmooze with the patrons, take photos and promote myself and the store (at no charge mind you). They are looking for a semi nude porn star to strip and dance, bottom line. At first it was a little aggravating but then I realized that this is how a recording artist might feel when they are constantly asked to sing and perform the same song over and over again or that one character in that one TV show that was never was able to shake that one character and has been required to play that same role one over and over again. It’s part of the industry and it just means that I have to push a little more to get my point, and product, across but in the meantime I will keep my pants and shirt on.
Dear Mr. Johnny,
You have to be patient, your fans and the entertainment industry need some time to meet this new Johnny the Entrepreneur. Usually, beautiful people have a hard time to prove that they are more than a pretty face…
Good luck and keep strong!
I’ve been impressed with the quality of your character for years and am glad to see you branch out and expand the Johnny Hazzard brand. Best of luck. I wish I’d have known you were in Dallas recently.
